Hello, I'm incompetent.
It really seems like I'm bustling around, but I'm living at my usual relaxed pace, to the point where you might wonder if I'm busy at all. Still, I'm trying my best to be active, even as a free spirit (or so I tell myself).
Well, if someone told me to get to work if I have time to play, I wouldn't have a comeback, but living happily is my life's motto.
The other day, I read Masumura Hiroshi's 'Guildma' at a coffee shop, and it was interesting.

Rough Summary

  • Yesterday, I went to Seiko Oomori's concert for the first time in several years (since high school?)
  • Also went to Enoshima
  • Even rode the Tower of Terror, a thrill ride I used to absolutely refuse
  • Did a lot of computer work
  • Reduced my clothes quite a bit, but they've increased again
  • My love for Vocaloid grew
  • My second rom-com boom in life at the beginning of the year

Yesterday, I went to Seiko Oomori's concert for the first time in several years (since high school?)

It was yesterday, but I went for the first time in ages.
My friend invited me out after their TOEIC exam, and when they said they were going to Seiko Oomori's concert, I just went along.
The staircase leading into the Sendai RENSA live house, where people lined up by ticket number, was a dreamy space, all pink and Gothic Lolita-like.

It might sound rude, but that mysterious space was just too interesting.

At its root, I think the reason I like Bob Dylan, Donovan, Woody Guthrie, and other folk artists is because I like folk artists, and Seiko Oomori, who originally played acoustic guitar, was the first one I liked.
Her live performance, as always, exuded incredible passion, and it was really cool.

For me, music has been a hero that supports me when I'm having a tough time, ever since I was a student.
The late Tom Petty continued his live tours for his fans even as his body was falling apart, and he passed away from a drug overdose, a result of taking too much morphine for fracture pain. I saw that news in real-time, and Tom Petty is one of my guitar heroes.

Also Went to Enoshima

I spent my first shrine visit of the year (Hatsumode) in Enoshima.
I was moved. It was my first time in Enoshima.

Even Rode the Tower of Terror, a Thrill Ride I Used to Absolutely Refuse

I rode a thrill ride that I absolutely refused to get on during my school trip.
I figured, 'Worst case, I won't die, so it's fine!' and went with that attitude, and it turned out okay. Learning the courage to take a step forward at 23 has led to many good experiences, so that was good.
By the way, I absolutely do not want to bungee jump.
Is that a setup for me to do it two years from now?

Did a Lot of Computer Work

Before I knew it, I had more servers. That's strange....

Reduced My Clothes Quite a Bit, But They've Increased Again

I significantly reduced my vintage clothes, which used to fill about 15 boxes, to now about 5 boxes?
However, I recently felt like I reduced them too much, so I bought the following:

  • 80’s Fisherman Sweater
  • Stevenson Overall Sweater
  • 90’s L.L. Bean Lined Denim Pants
  • Several shirts for work
  • 60’s U.S. NAVY G8 Wep Jacket

Bonus: 60’s Botanical Dye Kilim Rug
I remember buying other things too, but I've forgotten them.
I plan to continue enjoying buying vintage items next year.

What I'm particularly happy about is the 60's U.S. NAVY G8 Wep Jacket. I've admired it for a long time, but it's too expensive, and later models from the 1970s onwards have V-shaped cuffs, making them impractical to wear.
Also, many of them are in poor condition, so I'm happy to have found a clean one.
The history of the U.S. military is closely related to the history of computers; for example, terms like DMZ originally referred to demilitarized zones of the U.S. military, and this connection also extends to GNU/Linux. There's also FIPS, which was developed by the military and should now be deprecated, and the history of cryptography and its military origins are inseparable.

My Love for Vocaloid Grew

I bought a Teto figure and find myself listening to Vocaloid every day. People who've known me since around 2020 probably don't even know I used to secretly tinker with computers, and when a somewhat intimidating senior in their late 40s, who has nothing to do with PCs, told me, 'You've finally gone crazy!', I laughed, but since I was already crazy to begin with, I had no retort.
I mean, I also have records and like other music, but the Vocaloid community, even when viewed from the outside, is peaceful and feels very good.

My Second Rom-Com Boom in Life at the Beginning of the Year

Last year, I read 'To Love-Ru', got hooked on romantic comedies, then read 'Ichigo 100%', and ended up re-reading 'Pajama na Kanojo', which was serialized in Jump at the time.
The Jump magazines I read in real-time from late elementary school to junior high are some of my best memories.
My mother used to buy Jump for me.
But I stored the Jump magazines under my bed, so they piled up endlessly and became a hell.
Gradually, as my club activities (long-distance track and field) became so intense that I often came home exhausted, I read less and less. It was also around this time that I started getting engrossed in PC repair and digital things, so I hadn't read Jump since high school.
Next year, I want to read more manga and fully enjoy anime as a Japanese person.

So, I guess that's about it?
Things have been quite hectic, so this might be my last update for the year.
Wishing you all a happy new year in advance, and I look forward to your continued support.
