Hello, this is Munou.

As you can see from the eye-catching image, I bought some good earphones.

Below is my audio history from my high school days. I'll just list the earphones I used.

ETYMOTIC RESEARCH Etymotic Research ER2XR
audio-technica ATH-IM50, ATH-IM70
Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 Pro
SHURE SE215, SE425
SENNHEISER IE 40 Pro

I used quite a few others, but my memory is a bit hazy.
The reason is that I eventually realized, 'If I'm going to spend money on earphones for sound quality, wouldn't it be more cost-effective to buy records and listen to them analog?' But in the end, I decided I should master everything, so my audio, or rather, earphone passion has reignited.

My particular favorites were Audio-Technica's ATH-IM50 and ATH-IM70.
While using the earphones listed above, I mostly used only these two.
At the time, their cost performance, being available for around 4,000 yen, was exceptional.

I valued them as good-sounding earphones that I could use without worry.

Before that, I mainly used the SHURE SE215, but I stopped because I felt the evilness of the MMCX connector.
This time, I also bought an MMCX connector, but I've given up on hating MMCX connectors, which led to this purchase. I'll mainly use them at home and use Bluetooth earphones when I go out.

The Root of All Evil: The MMCX Connector

The rotating nature of the terminal itself makes the connector prone to poor contact due to the stress placed on it.

Especially since they are near the ears, sweating is unavoidable, so the rotating terminal itself allows a lot of sweat to flow in, which is the worst. Naturally, other debris also tends to get in easily.

Cleaning the connector itself is also difficult because its shape is like a miniature coaxial cable, so the tip of a brush can't easily get in...

Why did this become so prevalent...?

Did SHURE's popularity lead to the widespread adoption of this connector?
It's good for trying out various cables, but it's a trap disguised as being able to be used sustainably for a long time because it appears replaceable. From a company's perspective, if products aren't consumed, they don't rotate, so there might be issues if they last too long. However, for someone like me with insufficient technical skills, trying to solve it by changing the connector itself from the earphone housing is too difficult...

In this sense, I grew fond of Audio-Technica's IM50, which didn't use MMCX connectors, and used them for a long time. The sound quality, for that price range, was undoubtedly on an absurd level. The only drawback might be the large housing.

Let's get back to the topic.

So, that's why I bought the UM Pro30 this time.

I'm not sophisticated enough to give a detailed audio review, so I'll keep it brief.

Regarding ear tips, I use silicone ones because the urethane ones eventually get sticky and feel unhygienic, which is the worst.

Regarding earphones equipped with BA drivers, I've owned several in the past, but the sound quality of these is on another level.
This alone is enough.

In my listening environment, it seems to pick up all sounds, and neither the bass nor the treble sounds piercing; thanks to the high resolution, it feels like I'm being hit by sonic bullets. Should I say the sound cohesion is excellent?

And what I listen to with these earphones is...

Ging Nang Boyz?! (Seriously?!)

Just kidding, lol.

So, I'm also considering a USB-DAC to improve my audio environment.

That's all for now.
