I want to easily transfer image data taken with a Canon 80D DSLR.
Hello everyone.
I used to take photos with my Canon 80D all the time, but I haven't been taking them recently, and the barrier to that is how to handle the image data.
1. Wi-Fi SD Card
In the past, when Eye-fi came out, I bought and tried it, and later I also tried a cheap one called PQI Air or something similar.
However, it's slow... For transferring raw files or connecting between PCs, it's troublesome because you have to disconnect from the existing Wi-Fi first before connecting.
2. Camera Body Transfer Function
The camera body's transfer function is also the same, at a similar level to Wi-Fi cards, and I believe it couldn't connect between PCs either... so it's no good.
3. Set an SD card mount point on the server and have Nextcloud recognize it as external storage.
From the USB of my home server, insert an SD card reader and set its destination as a mount point. This involves sharing that mount point with Nextcloud.
With this, whether from a smartphone or a PC, viewing and downloading become easy via HTTP access.
Also, when I want to quickly view them outside, I guess Wi-Fi transfer would be fine... I think.
Currently, I'm considering option 3.
SD card → move to PC → transfer to smartphone, etc.
is too many unnecessary steps and troublesome, so if it's option 3, I could probably pull only what I need from my smartphone.
If it's local access within Nextcloud, it's quite fast.
So, this was an organization of my thoughts.
