Hello, I'm incompetent.
I was a bit surprised that ImageMagick, which I usually just install, was so easily dropped.
In fact, benchmarks show that conversion with libvips is faster, and ImageMagick itself has been considered a vulnerability bomb, so I had a feeling that the trend of moving away from ImageMagick was coming, but I wonder if it will accelerate even further now...

By the way, I haven't tracked down why, but this Mastodon update made it overwhelmingly lightweight. I'll take my time to carefully look at the changes from the previous version when I have time.
Completely unrelated, but there was another Japanese person who mentioned this, and in their replies, someone was asking how to install libvips. It would have been easy to just tell them, but the response was incredibly harsh, which made me laugh a bit lol.
