I Drank the Old Fashioned Loved by Legendary Speculator Jesse Livermore
Hello, I'm Incompetent.
>He enjoyed drinking the cocktail Old Fashioned. There's a story that when he sat down at the bar, the bartender would make it without him saying a word.
>On November 28, in a New York hotel room, he committed suicide by pistol, leaving a suicide note for his wife that read: "I can't help it. Things are getting worse. I am tired of fighting. I can't go on. This is the only way. I am unworthy of your love. I am a failure. I am truly sorry, but this is the only way." He suffered from depression in his later years.
So, here are the ingredients for an Old Fashioned.
Ingredients
Bourbon or Rye Whiskey - 45ml
Sugar Cube - 1
Angostura Bitters - a few dashes
Water - a few dashes
It seems important to add a few drops of bitters, but I didn't want to go out of my way to buy them... So, I wanted to try it at a bar, but the opportunity never arose, so this was my first attempt.
A drink I've wanted to try for about a year.

I'm really sorry, but since we were out of cherries and such, I was told, "I'll buy them along with other things I want to buy now, so if you wait, I can make it for you." I felt bad for making them go to so much trouble, but since they offered, I decided to take them up on it.

I was told to drink it while stirring, as there was a sugar cube, lemon, and cherry at the bottom.
Apparently, you can use orange instead of lemon too.
What I realized while drinking was that since it's a sugar cube in a cold drink, it doesn't completely dissolve, so I might be able to enjoy a second drink from the same glass. I had a second one, and bingo!
You don't have to stir it vigorously, or you can stir it thoroughly and drink it. That way, the aroma of lemon and such is enhanced, so I felt it was a drink with a lot of freedom in how you enjoy it.
Perhaps Jesse Livermore, who led a somewhat destructive life, betting his entire existence on speculation, enjoyed this drink by associating it with his own free life.
The unique aroma of bitters with a slight bitterness, combined with the fruity scent and the sweetness of the sugar cube, made it a drink that felt like life's bitterness and joy itself.
No... does that sound cheesy?
I had already drunk 4 cups of sake and 2 highballs, and despite it being almost neat, I easily drank two more, so it's quite a devilish drink (lol).
Well then, see you again.
Best regards.
