Hello, this is Munou.

I have newly acquired the domain damepo.jp.

There's a story behind the soulminingrig.com domain I'm currently using, but initially, I felt it was uncool to explain it, so I didn't. I think if you search for it, you'll somewhat understand.

This time, I want others to see the story behind this acquisition, so I'm writing an article about it.

The Reason This Time

So, why did I acquire it?

Personally, I had entered a "mou damepo" (it's already hopeless) mindset, and about 4 or 5 days ago, I vaguely thought I wanted a "damepo" domain without even searching for one.
It kept bothering me until yesterday.

Other candidates I wanted, like owata.xxx and warota.xxx, were being sold at high prices as premium domains. When I checked the owners of those domains, I found that some part of owata.xxx was held by a Korean company, and other traditional Japanese phrases were mainly held by foreign entities. I think it was around 600,000 yen? The market price for such rights seems to be around 300,000 to 600,000 yen.

This is not prejudice at all, but I personally felt, "Why are coined Japanese phrases held by foreign entities?" In reality, this trend is often seen in other fields and genres, but even for this kind of internet meme... I felt a little sad.
However, I think Nurukaru-san, who initially owned mstdn.jp (though it's unclear if they still do), owns jinsei-owata.net.

So, I ended up choosing this domain, which was relatively inexpensive. I quite, or rather, very much like it.

It comes from the famous saying "mou dameppoi" (it seems hopeless), which became "damepo," and it uses the .jp TLD, symbolizing Japan.

When you access it, a giant ASCII art will attack you. Be prepared.
By the way, I might implement a hidden feature if I feel like it.

I haven't really thought about its current use, but I plan to keep it as a domain that can be used casually.

End.
